Why does the channel now have a 2 minute summary on weekday mornings (after the 30min Business Live) followed by a 30min program?

Does Global not exist anymore?

When Victoria Derbyshire was extended to start at 9am on the NC, the combined 15 min NC/World 0900 bulletin was axed for a summary on World, followed by docs. The next full bulletin on World is at 1000.

I noticed World News Today came from Washington tonight with Jane O'Brien. Unusual it seems for the bulletin not to come from London.

GMT at 15.00 CET. What happened to Impact with Yalda or whoever is subbing most of the time?

EDIT: According to the schedule, it's now GMT from 13.00 until 16.00 CET and Impact from 16.00 until 19.00 CET (with some half hours filled with sport, biz and Hardtalk). No Global anymore. Is this permanent? Why the change? What happens with Matthew?

Yep. It's the same situation for tonight as well.

All of this looks like more cost cutting. If Global is gone for good and WNT is done from DC, that means 2 shifts less. Having a dedicated presenter for just 30 minutes of WNT didnt make sense so DC taking over is ok but Global disaoppearing is quite surprising. Anyway with DC now doing more hours, I hope they finally revamp that set.

Might this just be a temporary, it's-August, not-much-news-happening-in-the-summer sort of thing?

I agree. I hope they do give the set a revamp as well. Another thing is would they have enough room at their hub in DC to rebuild it?

If they only had that set in their possession and had nowhere else to move in their building I would be thinking along the lines of a major refurbishment to make it look like the style of NBH would be sufficient. Another thing to look out for is what to place in the set & allocation of their budget.

How many Sq Metres is available in their current hub in DC compared to the one in Singapore?

Didn't they revamp the studio fairly recently (within the last five years or so)? In the current atmosphere of BBC cuts, is a big and expensive revamp unlikely?

I don't think so - I think it was towards the end of the 2000s that they got that particular set, although they've changed the lighting up since then so it looks a lot nicer and much less grey than it did when it made its debut.

I think screens were replaced in 2014 when they updated the control room and everything to HD.
