has it not occurred to you that the sky news 2005 look was a disaster? why emulate it?

I really liked it!

Same! The only problem I had was too much blurring and the fact they used a cameraman to cover a transition.

yes but nobody else did, it was nearly beyond parody. The only people it appealed to was TV Forumers! Their ratings plummeted!

Indeed it cost millions and Nick Pollard had to 'move on' after it.

Yikes. An in-studio interview on Asia Business Report reveals a truly hideous set. Hopefully that gets some attention soon.

Ta - and this will all move the 28th?

I think what Sally said from earlier pages was 05:00am onwards...

Possibly Newsday will move too so it then won't go to TVC until 0130GMT, gradually reducing the night hours from TVC right down to zero.

I notice now BBC2 is carrying signed programming in the mornings they've taken it off BBC1 overnights weekdays meaning once it all goes fully to NBH we'll get all overnights in HD. Talking of which, I assume even once everything is at NBH we won't see any HD output quite yet as the feed will still go via the SD galleries at TVC for addition of existing News Channel graphics??

I saw the new Asia Business Report titles this morning on BBC News - the same as World Business Report but coloured orange. I think I'm right in saying that they were the old ones the day before.

Really? I never liked them - then again, it was before I was a TVF member.

I don't really know what to make of the new BBC World surroundings. Yes, it looks fresh and different, but I'm not totally convinced yet that it's that much of an improvement. From the bits and pieces I've seen, the channel now feels very studio-bound and less 'live' than it has since the mid-90s. It's amazing how much energy a working newsroom as a backdrop gives a news channel. This is probably the biggest shame about BBC World's move to NBH.

I'm also a little disappointed that the titles and music hasn't been significantly updated. Yes, the new countdown and its music is very nice, but the titles and other music is all very much the same as it has been for up to 5 years. When the move to NBH was announced many years ago, I really expected it to herald a new on-screen identity, so this just feels like a missed opportunity and 'more of the same'.

Probably the biggest musical disappointment is the new WBR music. It's rubbish compared to the 1997 flags theme. That was very catchy and memorable whereas this is just more beeps and crashes with no discernible tune at all.

So, overall I'm not blown away. It's nice to have a change and some more dynamic use of studios but part of me thinks the channel will become stale after a while.

This would help massively...

That is a very unattractive block on the left of the image.

That is also the position that the trundlecam operates on, so the set up must have crossed the rails. I hope that they got permission from the fat controller. Laughing
