Would an image not be better with text? Text alone just looks a bit meh, they could have just put a strap onscreen and would look tidier.

Going by the on-screen clock, this is the very brief headlines recap which actually follows Newsday, but keeps the Newsday branding. The text will be on screen for about 10-15 seconds max. I agree though, if they must have something on-screen, then something like CNN Today's headline graphic might work better:
But given it's so quick, I don't really think any graphics are needed at all. It really is that brief a summary.

I do agree that no graphics are needed. Headlines should be simple format wise maybe?
I don't know what everyone else thinks, but I find the standing up on Newsday a little pointless. Can understand at the plasma screens, but not when there's little reason to, such as this.

Looks like, if newspaper speculation is accurate, my floated idea might come true after all. If the two channels are merged, I would've thought BBC News would be the preferred name.
I don't think either rebrand has been particularly successful. I still hear people calling the News Channel, News 24 and World News, World. Both names are too long and too clunky. Personally, I'd suggest both channels should be called BBC News. The two channels aren't supposed to be available in the same place, so it would ony cause confusion on forums like this.

I saw a promo shortly before 0500 GMT and it appears BBC World or BBC News as a whole (the promo had just the BBC News logo with BBC News, BBC World News and BBC World News in text below it) has a new slogan "keep an open mind" narrated by Katty Kay. I don't know if this just related to the elections as preceding it were images of Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton with words describing them on top of the images.
Edit : There are other people featured in other promos such as Angela Merkel and Edward Snowden.

That is not correct. She is the presenter for the moment. George tweeted on his first day back that he will be returning to the show later on this year as he will be slowly making his return.
They made a Impact title card before they made Yalda permanent - they had Babita's name on the titles

Where did you see Babita's name on the Impact title card - if it was this - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cDfoEI3Bm4A - it's not real! (I added it, thinking no one would notice)

Indeed, Ben and Aaron said they're one camera down, so obviously that messes up templates etc
Studio C having camera issues this morning. During Buisness Live, it was interesting banter between the two of them!
