I noticed this recently on BBC World News when David Bowie died the ticker had "Obituary: David Bowie" as its RSS based. Very strange!

Ben Bland appears to be coming from Millbank again. There must be significant night work going on.

I saw the thirty-minute programme at 2am and there seemed to be a reluctance to show any wide shots of the studio. If they were keen on avoiding any obvious visual evidence of being in a different (and much smaller) studio they might want to consider changing the imagery on the studio screens. The loop of the map graphics (on the studio screens) is also less than ideal - the starting point is not exactly seamless, shall we say..

To be fair, this is probably just a test of emergency back up broadcasting, we can forgive the odd discrepancy here and there.

I'd be surprised if it were just a test. These used to happen regularly, off-air. They were tests, and as tests you wouldn't put them on-air...

I think it is more likely that work is going on in some areas of W1 that mean it is easier for some output to decamp to Millbank.

I kept thinking there was breaking news based on the close up shot with the red background.

The move to Millbank was due to very disruptive work taking place at W1. Radio and the world service were also operating differently. All back to normal overnight tonight. As with any exercise like this there will be a review of how it all went, I think the background for the MCU of the presenter has already been mentioned.

Did radio decamp too? Not sure which stations would be live overnight, but I guess Western House could have been busier than normal?

Not sure which stations would be live overnight,
All except Radio 4 and the Asian Network I think, although
5live and 6Music come from Salford overnight.

Caught the last two minutes of Sport Today at 0145 on World News HD and there was no ticker, while checking the NC on iPlayer live, there was a ticker.

It's amazing somebody must've thought that looked good.
