Why exactly do they do a two minute roundup of news before actually starting the 2000 GMT Business Live? It comes across to me as strange/inorganic as it starts out with the regular opens, then a brief bulletin, a quick tease from Michelle in New York and finally the Business Live titles. Seems like it would be simpler if they just rolled the tease, then the business open, start with some brief news headlines (like plenty of specialist shows do) and then the business content.

Or is the brief headline round up broadcast in the UK?

As it currently stands that broadcast of Business Live is not available in the UK only the European morning edition is.

That is an awful studio imo.

D looks so much bigger with World in there.

It does look very crowded. The second shot in particular is fairly busy.

I never got why there's that one hole/slight gap / removable panel in their news desks. I imagine in studio D they could use it as a guest position but it would be slightly difficult to shoot given that the camera would have to go between the monitor and the main presenter. But studios C & E have those lit/led hoops that would prevent a guest from sitting there (and the fact that the Furios track doesn't go back that far but they could set up a temporary camera.)

Is it there for easy maintenance ? Even so they could make it flush.

I'm pretty sure those panels can rotate around the desk, I think they can in Studio E and should do in C

Not sure why you think the studio is awful. It's got the same cameras, lighting and level of acoustic isolation as the other basement studios. The main difference is the lack of remotely tracking Furio cameras, but the large studio doesn't have Furios either.

Or do you mean you don't like the design of the set that is in the studio?

I think it's fine. Certainly preferable to decamping to Studio A for the night.

Any reason why they used the newsroom backdrop rather than the London skyscape used in C?

It looks quite nice. The newsroom view seems more clear than in other sets. Wouldn't mind World using newsroom backdrop for some bulletins, maybe during night.
