I think only one camera was shaking during wide shots.
Day London skyline looks greqt, love the bus and cars moving around.
I guess they must have a good reason for TVC switch. My wishful thinking is that they plan to use studio E for those hours but they are not ready yet.
Also, seing the old look again made me realize how huge old graphics were, they took so much space.

Yes, I thought the same. I really don't like the London backdrop at all. Seems to be quite popular in Britain and has been talked up a bit in a few media pieces but I can't see any benefit to having such a localised backdrop on an international news channel. The image itself seems over-processed, artificial and has an uncomfortable purple tinge which clashes with the reds of the graphics.
The balcony shot of the "World's Newsroom" would be a far better option.
Anyone else think when they had the balcony shot overlooking the newsroom on the screens behind the newsreader - during the World News Live slot after Global yesterday - that it'd make a fantastic backing for Studio C instead of the London skyline? It looked great!

Sorry, no idea. My guess would be no - at least not until BBC Two HD launches.
I believe they were for at least some of yesterday.

Probably not your area of expertise, but do you have any idea if HD versions of the World News bulletins from BBC Two and BBC Four will appear on BBC iPlayer. I know The Andrew Marr Show does not get a HD version
I wonder, if there had been major glitches during the first day of broadcasts in NBH...
Are substitute presenters on standby at N8?

Yes, that newsroom shot looked good. They should use it for those WN bulletins from stud B.
A few more observations:
- One countdown they used this morning had a different final shot of the gallery.
- Background used when they have a reporter photo is now just plain white, no globe or red strings.
- News presenters use right side of the desk (from viewer perspective) while biz presenters are on left side.

I just remembered this comment by mdta...
My satellite junkie friends told me that the Intelsat 19 feed exist indeed, since last year...
I'll try to ask them if they could screengrab another one with the NBH revamp.

But I really hope that they launch BBC World News HD before CNN International, since... obviously... they are ready!
Does anyone have any more info on this little nugget?
Quote:
In October 2011, a high definition feed of BBC World News showed up on Galaxy 13 in the United States.[8] Also in September 2012, BBC World News has also launched a HD feed in the Asia Pacific Region on Intelsat 19 at 166.0°E. The channel is speculated for launch in high definition in early 2013.
