I can't remember if I posted this here and I'm having trouble searching at the moment so apologies in advance. I'm curious is BBC World News subtitled/captioned? I only ask because it's not here in North America (I know for sure it's not in the US or Canada). I realize North America (and a handful of other country) use a different standard but if they do subtitle why would they ignore an entire continent?
The only BBC programming that's subtitled is content that's syndicated by KCET (which has it subtitled) to other public television stations across the country.
I wonder if there's a way it can be instantaneously converted prior to transmission?

Stupid BBCWN, they started to air commerical breaks during the news bulletins once again. Please stop airing commerical breaks on the Europe feed!
I think BBC world should have more news time and less commercials for european feed.
The breaks were the best part of BBC World years and years ago! Before they started that "streaming" approach to breaks in 2004 whereby some regions would get adverts and others would have more live news in between the break stings, we used to get treated to the wonderful BBC World break fillers. The backing music for these fillers in the late 1990s and early 2000s was epic and was undoubtedly the best feature of the channel for pres anoraks. Just take a listen to these:
