. Instead of broadcasting from London, another possibility is to have Michelle Fleury presenting from the New York Stock Exchange on a day when the US has traded in order to provide live interviews from the floor.

The only issue I have with that is Michelle Fleury also does updates from the NYSE for the NC as well.

I'm aware she does updates for the NC but as far as I'm aware, buisness provision ends at 17:00 London time and admittedly she's probably also on World Buisness Report but this would give her a new challenge, especially linking up with Singapore.

Does anyone know what audio BBC world news hd on 19.2e is using?, I think it's Dolby Digital AC3 Audio 2.0 the sound is coming out a bit muffled however, I checked a BBC world news bulletin on BBC two hd and the sound came out perfect, I am sure BBC Two HD is using the same audio codec hence I'm confused Sad

The best thing to happen technically to BBC World News since it went widescreen, I just wished it went HD sooner.

BBC Two HD on DSat will carry MP2 (with Audio description - which is likely to be silent during news) and AC3 on satellite. You may hear a difference between the two. (On Freeview HD it will be AAC not AC3)

I would expect BBC World News HD to be either MP2 or AC3 on DSat. Probably AC3.

It is AC3 on satellite DD 2.0 as is the BBC news channel but BBC world news sounds a bit mono

I believe despite being HD, BBC World News is still mixed to mono by RedBee. Not sure why, it used to be the case that one audio leg carried presentation talkback to cue insertion of regional advertising, but that's long been brought under the control of RedBee themselves.

Aah that's a shame, but it is in HD that's the main thing.

Also one more complaint Sad there's no epg either or at the bare minimum now and next, I presume it's SES who need to do this?

It would be produced by whoever handles coding and mux I think. I don't know who is coding and muxing that transponder, and whether it is part of any existing platform.

(The BBC uplink, and code & mux, the 28.2 BBC feeds - or more accurately outsource uplink to ATOS - and are responsible for inserting Sky and Freesat EPG data as a result. I don't know who handles the BBC WN uplinks and coding and mux for the various versions that exist)

Hello noggin the channel dosent seem to be part of any platform, according to my receiver it says the provider is Harmonic.

EDIT: There's a few more Harmonic channels on 13e only Comedy Central Poland HD has EPG maybe the data needs to be supplied to them.

Harmonic are a manufacturer of broadcast encoders.

Suspect that the 'Harmonic' flagging is just a coding/mux default setting rather than reflecting a common source.
