World and the News Channel have gone their separate ways as of 9.30, with the News Channel in Studio A, although I wouldn't be surprised if Huw's contribution to the 10 was taken on World as it was in the Six.

Independent
World News America did not take anything from the BBC News at 10.

Strange to see laptops on the desk with Babita and Phillipa (in Studio B?). Haven't seen a wide shot but it certainly looks like they've changed the colour scheme a bit too.

I think they have used laptops because that desk is not designed to have two computers beneath the desk, Global uses laptops IIRC.

Correct me if I'm wrong, I think Studio B's desk does not have any compartment for concealed computers under the desk, not even one let alone two. In Studio B with the 3 screen display, the desk has a middle centre that looks like tinted glass akin to the tinted glass in Studio C or E's desk, but that is much smaller and I don't think it is meant for looking through to any under-the-desk displays. Therefore Studio B always uses laptops regardless of how many presenters there are. In Studio B on the side where Impact comes from, the table is a small coffee table with transparent glass top, so I think there isn't much reason to put some display under that given that it will be visible to viewers and that is not the intention.

The desk on the side with the three big screens on certainly does have a computer within it, although they don't use it all that often, particularly if it's raised up. You can almost always see it at the end of Sunday Politics when they zoom out from the other side of the studio, and I think Newsnight use it too.

Seems to be only for World News bulletins and WHYS when it was on.

Lyse Doucet conducting live bilingual interviews and translating answers between questions is mighty impressive. What an asset to have.

When Studio B has been used for two presenters in the past they have used the computer and a laptop.http://tvnews.x10.mx/images/yaldajulian.png

Interesting. thanks DTV for the pics, didnt someone say though in Studio E there wasnt much you could do with the red, hence its always red.

Well, a lot of the newsroom is painted red? And those red panels just outside the studio? Maybe that's what they meant.

No I mean the bits above the big screens, it's just a red panel which is different to studio b and c, I am sure someone on here said in studio e it can only be red.

Just found this picture that seems to indicate that Studio E lightboxes can be different colours

That's because that's not a lightbox, it's an LED video screen (showing colour bars).
