I thought that looked great, especially during the sign off when we saw how the cameras were arranged.
I can't remember who said it, but in the old thread someone said "Embrace the cameras, they're part of the set" - So true, and I really like it.
Interesting start to Newsday, although I have to say I like the two presenters shown on screens side by side rather than an being on an on screen graphic side by side.

An insider said earlier in this thread that the graphics would be a mishmash until all output has moved to BH in March.
How is the 0100 GMT lower third output going to work? will the graphics all of a sudden revert to old style to fit the news channel?

That's still likely to come from TC1 I'd gather just rented out for the week by the BBC from its new owners. I imagine it would still be the only place big enough to house such an operation.
That said they could technically join Jeremy at Grey's Inn Road and go in the recently vacated Studio 2 and go all VR. That would be extremely interesting to say the least to have it all going on from the one building!!

So far the updates to the various program titles have been disappointing, GMT practically had no change, World News Today has now got still images, Impact needs to get away from this 'Eastern' titles it's got going on, looks out of place. And now Newsday still has the generic News music, and surprisinly it doesn't gain it's own strap like the rest of the themed programs.

He is the president and isn't going to be up for election so it doesn't really matter. Unlike in the UK there's no such thing as a Shadow President that could be used for balance
Yes, was just about to say, ginnyfan, not very partisan!

Sorry I don't have capture capabilities, but wow - Newsday on the News Channel *is* weird. Normal lower third, but live bug etc in the new style. A grainy pic of Nico, but a crisp picture from NBH. The bit I didn't like to the opening is rather than use a split screen, they are doing the CNN trick of filming the screens in the studio.
It doesn't quite work (although I wish it did) due to the angle of the screens.
Nice to see the cameras moving about on the rail briefly during the opening shots though.
