I don't get to watch TV much anymore but when I have a look at BBC World News it looks old already. Not the set etc but more the channel graphics. I like that they've got some proper junctions before the countdown like they did in the old day but the lack of proper breakfiller and the use of Gill again and none of it really matching anymore, it bugs me quite a bit. The short ticker text is annoying too, it repeat itself every minute or so.

I was watching one edition of World Business Report and the headlines transitional thunderclap uses the one that's similar with the TOTH headlines. I don't think I heard the usual WBR headlines background music as well. Was it some mix-up or has they decided to change the WBR sting? It was on TWT with Rajesh Mirchandani and the Ben Thompson reading the business news.

Some technical issues right now on Focus on Africa. The presenter is struggling a bit to hold things together, scrambling to find her paper scripts from the low table, whilst all the time, we can hear the gallery screaming in her ear. Quite audible. Perhaps related to the Breaking News occurring right now over the beheading of a hostage.
Even as I type this minutes later, we can still hear the talkback, which she must have turned up very loud.

I was surprised to see that Focus on Africa has its own sport presenter in London rather than throwing to Salford

You have to remember that Focus on Africa is produced by the same team as produce African programmes for BBC World Service Radio - they are African specialists and that includes the sports reporters.
Salford would not have the expert knowledge to report on African sport.

The regular sports presenter is Peter Okwoche, which he also presents Focus On Africa too on occasions since Komla's passing.
Also BBC Afrique & BBC Swahili is based at NBH which is where most of the sports news comes from so I think that must be the reason as to why.

Thanks for that, I assumed Sport had moved lock, stock and barrel, I hadn't realised the language services were still doing their own from BH.
