Just noticed the headlines on the ticker are significantly shorter than usual and there are fewer stories. Most of them were headlines from the website word for word such as "Israel to 'resist Gaza pressure'" and "US labs 'mishandled deadly germs'".
Not a big fan of the BBC's online headlines. I understand headlines are supposed to be as brief as possible but the BBC's can be extremely vague at times.
What's the technical set up in the MPA? Mosart and remote operated cameras or is it more traditional?
I think they had iTX at one point (kind of a cut-down Columbus "in a box") - though I think that was more for playout automation. Not sure what the camera control provision is. Talking to people who have worked in them, they are pretty miserable set-ups, almost as if they had designed by people who didn't make television (the monitor stack is pretty bad for instance)
What do North American viewers get in place of Asia Business Report and is this split a very recent change? Very recently, I realised Babita is fond of saying "Except for our North American viewers, Asia Business Report is coming up next." or whenever there's any further exploration of a story to be featured on ABR, she will say "For viewers outside N.America, you can catch ... later in Asia Business Report." I don't hear this sort of phrases in the past.
Huh, interesting. I know nothing about TV ad sales, though I would have expected those rates to be a little higher. I would imagine those rates are also a good indicator of where BBC World's audience is and at which times they tune in.

The disappointing change was done near the beginning of April.
Here's the schedule on the website.
http://www.bbc.co.uk/worldnews/programmes/schedules/northamerica As you can tell, it gets quite repetitive. If I've seen Click or the Travel Show already during the weekend, I have no reason to be on BBC World News during the back half-hours. They're already repeated enough over the weekend. At least ABR and Sport Today give a reason to stay on the channel for at least one of the back half-hours over the five hour period.
