Just watched my first edition of Outside Source... its a bit gimmicky.
The "studio" area and the touch screen are terrible and need to go. The touch screen particularly draws attention to Ros Atkins clunky presentation style. However, the segments where Ros walks around the upper floors of Broadcasting House are far better.

I didn't see that but exactly how does that help explain the story to the viewer? I am probably jumping to conclusions seeing as I haven't seen the programme but it does sound gimmicky.
That was nice... BBCWN Outside Source just pointed their camera to BBCNC studio because one of their Kiev correspondents Daniel Sandford is reporting there now, and he will be joining BBCWN OS later.

There's a clip here on the BBC News website from Outside Source : http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/blogs-trending-26258330
It's actually quite a good story to demonstrate what they are trying to do I guess - though the medium almost appears more important than the message at times - and for a story about a single image - we didn't ever actually see the image that clearly. I get the feeling that they may not have a second clean output from the touch plasma controller - so anything Ros controls may only be available with the control interface (so the still he cued wasn't available clean?)
Not my cup of tea to be honest. The touch plasma feels - if anything - over produced, and a bit dated.

i guess they just want to show that the news update is non-stop and their correspondents are reporting on all stations...
although i find it funny that whenever Ros wants to switch to Reuters, he always gets that placeholder.

Did anyone have any pictures or screenshots of this?
GMT and Impact from studio C this afternoon. I think it is the first time the programs come from this studio. Also nice use of camerashots.
