I can think of nothing more satisfying than seeing a presenter saying an informal goodbye at the end of a programme! Laughing

Not even a freshly cooked bacon sandwich?

For me, it's a matter of which I hate more - I much prefer sausage sandwiches, and a "Good evening" at the end of an hour-long news programme at 7 o'clock (for example).

Watching The World Today and it was everything that you want from morning news; headlines, reports, business, sport, papers, chat about news, done! IMO, that format should replace the normal rolling news from 6 until 10 on the NC.

Tanya = Miss Mischief on set. Legendary.

The World Today: I, as you all know, am a great fan of this particular hour on BBC World News, but it very much depends on who's in the lead presenter chair. It swings from being an informative, interesting, fast paced newscast, to occasionally being a clunky mess of bad timing, boredom and car crash telly. Which is sad.

The newspaper review, whilst one of my favourite segments, can often feel contrived and shoehorned into a very short slot. I would like that segment to be extended slightly and in slightly greater depth, similar to the NC equivalent.

Please Tell me the Title Sequence won't look like that or have that ridiculous weight change in font.

Oof! Katy Lette faux snogging and smooching Stephen Sackur just now at the wrap of GMT and handover to Lucy Hockings' Impact!

She did manage to plant at least one full-on smacker right on his lips. LOL.

We all love a maverick.

I agree with most of your points. There had been times when someone less experienced, like Daniela on the chair, from my observation she was just mostly quiet while Sally or Alice was doing more of the questioning to the guest, it seems odd the lead anchor is just taking a backseat, but we can't blame her either as it may be safer instead of saying all the wrong things. Also the lead anchor creates the atmosphere, sometimes its just sprinkled with awkward moments of silences, while he/she is thinking what to say, exchanging glances with the biz presenter. I'll have to say Naga does bring out that area great, Martine Dennis was good as well. I hope more of these similar league of presenters get to anchor that in future.

Also while on this, it seems to me the guests on TWT are mostly the same group of people. If we've watched TWT long enough, most of the guests who appear have appeared before and will probably again after some weeks. Are these guests paid to come and put on some sort of a rota?

Thanks, NJ.

I've asked the same Q over on the weather thread: is the Outside Source position on the balcony the same position presently used by Carol Kirkwood et al? The three screens on the wall and the big 'iPad' for Ros and Karin look quite similar to the recently revised weather set-up.

One would assume this isn't the same screen Weather have been using for the past year or so, and that they've replaced it with a new touchscreen? Or was the screen always a touchscreen yet never used?

You don't get "touchscreens" that big. You get a normal screen, then add a touch system to it. You don't need to have bought them at the same time either, so they could easily have just added such a system to the existing screen.
