Has Studio C been in constant 24 hour a day use for the past two weeks or has BBC World News decamped at any stage?

Yes, I believe it has.

Focus on Africa has been aired from its usual home, but I believe those were pre-recorded before Christmas, as they're billed as "look backs"

Newsday is back after the Christmas period with Daniela and Sharanjit.

...and now its back they've tweaked their presentation by dual-screening (as in the introducing newsday with orange background) and sharing the top headline.

It really doesn't work, and makes the presentation 'clunky', when it's a serious headline it's going to look like trivalising the story. I'm personnally not a particular fan normally when it's shared dual-headed in a studio, but at least the timings can be kept and seems more natural.

They do share the main story at some points after the titles, but this is only on rare occasions

WN at 5am have recut title music similar to my mock posted, the 'post title, post headlines' sting sounds like an extended version of the old close tag for Weekend News at TVC, with 2013 strings added.

The music has been like this for a few months now, has been noted in the thread quite a bit, discussing points on the main titles being played after the first headline, since then a new re-cut of titles are now played between the headlines.

Little bit of an error earlier today. At the end of the countdown, we cut to Nik Gowing in the studio on an unusual opening side shot. Clearly be doesn't realise he's on air, as he continues to rehearse a change in script.

He then looked down to his notes and scribbled something and asks the voice in his ear "what are you swearing at"? (one imagines the voice in his ear is saying: feck. We're on air. Feck!). Nik glances up to a monitor and indeed sees that he's on air. Still on the same wide shot, the floor manager runs onto set, takes away one of Niks papers and replaces it with another. Runs out of shot. Almost immediately, we go to the single head-on shot, a thunderclap 'claps' and Nik starts his intro.

Who's clock isn't synchronised, as the countdown did run its full course to the very end.

It seems like BBC gremlins are starting strong this new year. Very Happy

Too bad I missed that one.

This is outrageous! Wish someone has taped that, would love to see. What's the actual that should've happened? I believed upon ending of countdown, we're suppose to see him say "Hello", while being shot from the front isn't it? This followed by headlines montage, side shot, and opening the news. But why is he not ready and apparently having the wrong script? Am a bit confused.

Poor Adnan Nawaz downbeatly mumbling "Austrlia have won the Ashes 5-0. Byebye" in a 3-second gap to the outgoing sting resolutely refusing to look at the camera scratching his forehead with his fingers with what only could hide utter disbelief. I can only assume he was watching/just got the message in his ear as the stumps had only just fallen.

A few minutes later, and back with the headlines and newspaper review, he then went from the upbeat presenting style, to glancing sideways and looking solemnly to reading "... and as we're now only on the BBC News Channel, I can confirm for you that the fifth test in Sydney has ended in victory for Australia, so England have lost the Ashes five-nil" and while doing so firmly puts the script down on the desk midway through.

I think it's safe to assume his a cricket fan...
