Heard Babita said today's the final Impact for 2013, I guess it's that time of the year where all branded programs go on hiatus until after the new year?

Update: It looks like 23 December is the cut-off date for branded programs. No longer see Newsday appearing today the 24th. Anybody knows when in Jan 2014 will they resume? I believe it was around the 2nd or 3rd week after new year last year. Another thing, is this hiatus of branded programs like a culture to the BBC, and what's the reason for it?

Today is a normal working day here in the UK, surprising that tomorrow isn't that last day of branded programs!

Why is Aaron Heslehurst constantly shouting when he presents World Business Report? He's really REALLY loud and animated for a business presenter.

Business Presenter Alice Baxter is also shouting when she presents on BBC World News.

Aaron's the long-time flamboyant business presenter, and Alice is the new one on the block. I think Alice steals Aaron's style. Anyway, I'd love to see more of Juliette Foster, she's good.

The return was delayed last year because of the move to NBH

They return this year on the 2nd.

Goodness me, I would have to agree. I don't see much of BBC World these days (the pitfalls of full time work and no VCR any more!) so I didn't realise quite what Alice's style was like. The way she placed too much emphasis on words like "suffer" and "devastation" made me cringe. It's sad to see BBC World being reduced to this sort of tabloid CNN-style presentation - can you imagine the great Anita McNaught or Keshini Navaratnam presenting like this and waving bits of paper around?
