It does normally disappear at Christmas time. I would have thought it would be next week though.
Is there any particular reason that 'World News Today' is not on BBC Four?
From its programme page, it seems it won't be back till the new year, despite it continuing apace now on 'BBC World News'. In its place is a 2004 docu-series 'Battlefield Britian'

Not sure if it's been mentioned yet here, in World Today, 5am UK time slot, I hearing an update to the music played right after the single main headline. It's a faster more upbeat version.
And we got a bit of a glitch just now, it doesn't switch to Sally Bundock for her intro at the beginning. Thus she had to narrate to some unrelated video without appearing onscreen at all.

Something has got me thinking. With Outside Source being simulcast in the new year , what will that do to the 11:30 BBC Two bulletin. Will we get it from 11:00 or will it be pushed back to the afternoon?

Outside Source launches February 17th

This February - Outside Source – a brand new news programme, will launch on BBC World News. This innovative new show hosted by Ros Atkins will link the BBC's global network of journalists with a worldwide audience, showcasing the stories that matter to them.
Using the latest in broadcast technology, Ros will be able to dissect the news using a purpose built touch screen television and a series of cameras that will allow him to move around Broadcasting House during the live show. Viewers will get the latest information on stories from our reporters, whether they are in one of our 27 language services or part of the BBC's team of international correspondents.
Plus there will be ample opportunity for audience interaction, encouraging comment and insight about stories happening where they are, via social media.
Outside source is a half-hour programme on BBC World News, broadcast in the early evening GMT.

I've listened a few times to the show on World Service, and I really like the concept. The sheer breadth of correspondents of the BBC is really celebrated in this show. I'm even warming to Ros Atkins a bit too!
Especially good is a editorial discussion of how correspondents are going to cover stories. There was a discussion between the Europe Bureau Chief, Steve Evans in Berlin and Alan Johnston in Rome

Anyone else think this sounds like the perfect type of program to put out on the 2100 hour on the Domestic news channel?

I'd actually prefer to see a Business Edition simulcast at 2100...
