Some changes to BBC World schedule Monday 1100 GMT-1800 GMT....

That'll be because it's a Bank Holiday in the UK, no?

But it isnt Bank Holiday around the World. And I thought BBC World traditionally doesnt change the schedule on Bank Holiday

It's also not a Bank Holiday everywhere in the UK. In Scotland it's a normal working day.

Aye just a bog standard day for us, but yet we're stuck with Bank Holiday TV...

To be honest bank holiday TV is pretty much bog standard these days. it's only really news programmes are generally a bit shorter, other than that nothing really changes anymore does it?

Another camera fk up just now on World News. Alice Baxter mid speech for her business segment, and the shot reverts to the opening studio wide shot with Martine Dennis at the desk and Alice left floundering on the catwalk because there are no cameras, and hence autocue, directly pointing at her. All cameras turned away from her.

Had to be rescued by Martine, who picked up the story from her autocue.

World: as I've said many times, this has gone on for too long now. No longer can you pass it off as teething troubles.

I saw tht too. Lucky it was just the 15min past TOTH interjection, otherwise if it's the full biz, wonder what will she do if the newsanchor isn't at the desk?

I like the way Martine tells Alice to carry on, but she can't, no autocue I guess. They seem to have a few cameras, why didn't the director or cam op spin a camera round?

There is no "cam op". And the director only has the presets that are programmed into the system available to them. If it's all just gone haywire, then they might understandably be a bit reluctant to start hammering buttons in the hope the cameras end up pointing in the right place.

It seems like there's a haywire camera almost everytime I watch BBC World. I agree; it's cool technology, but it's not cooked well done yet.

The whole event is reminiscent of the Aaron Heslehurst breakdown, where he was with Nik Gowing. Video is available on the Videos section here.

Unrelated:
Newsday is going sans Singapore today. Maybe a technical glitch or the staff is absent?
Update: Sheranjit comes in the midst. Looks like the something went botched earlier, so no intro frm Singapore.
