Some changes to BBC World schedule Monday 1100 GMT-1800 GMT....

That'll be because it's a Bank Holiday in the UK, no?

But it isnt Bank Holiday around the World. And I thought BBC World traditionally doesnt change the schedule on Bank Holiday

The change wasn't planned. It's due to technical issues.

What is 'the change'? 1100 - 1800 GMT is the time WN is in Studio B, isn't it?

Impact is not shown right now when it's supposed to. Instead Katya Adler with a regular bulletin, but does a stand-up introduction on the 'catwalk'. Still on Studio C btw. The previous hour was by Alice Baxter. I wonder if all the branded strands like Impact and Global will be cancelled. But during the commercial just now, I clearly saw they put up the schedule, with Impact on it.

Just a guess but presumably there is an issue (either planned or unplanned) with Studio B which has made i unavailable if Studio C is being used?

I must admit, I'm quite pissed that there's no Global tonight... and a lot of Ros Atkins on Studio C.

By the way, No Focus on Africa tonight?

It's also not a Bank Holiday everywhere in the UK. In Scotland it's a normal working day.

Have been having this itching curiosity a while, just want to ask does anyone feel that BBCWN differs from Al Jazeera English in at least one rather significant aspect, ie. Al Jazeera is fond of showing extensive 'raw' footages, eg. videos of bloodied bodies and such. While BBC would usually heavily cut down on such scenes and even issue warnings to viewers before hand. Does it add journalistic qualities to screen footages just as it is, whether it's grim or not? What do you think? Also, I was watching Al Jazeera some time ago, during the weekend of Egypt's retaliation crisis and BBCWN would have minimum news to give way to documentaries. Al Jaz. were talking to someone right inside the mosque where things were unfolding with people breaking in, screaming, tear gases and they keep the person and the live cam on.
