JC on The Papers this morning with Naga and Alice Baxter. Wish he'd come back to World.

Did Naga also did GMT last night?

There's something about Naga, I don't know what it is. I try think what it could be everytime I see her, but I really don't like her. I don't know what it is and I don't mean to be disrespectful but theres' just something about watching her that peeves me off... to me she comes across as if she doesn't wanna be there or that she thinks shes got better things to do with her time than reading the news.

I get a similar vibe from her... I also have an unexplainable hatred for Alice Baxter which makes me reach for the remote.

There's breaking news in Egypt again but World sticks to it's weekend taped shows. It really takes A LOT to force them to change their routine. Rolling Eyes

I agree. I do find it rather silly since the first time I watch BBCWN that they squeeze all their documentary/special programmes onto weekends, and cut tremendous amount of actual news. Instead of full hour bulletins, we are forced to receive those 10-minute summary more often than not. With this event, people would rather switch to Al Jazeera for instance. For a rolling world news channel to not continuously and extensively cover a major fluid news, without being restricted to weekdays, is quite disappointing. Having said that, the Egyptian crisis would be worthy of being flagged 'serious' I think and the documentaries could have taken a diversion from regulars like you said.

I think BBCWN could have sprinkled their documentaries throughout the week, instead of saturating it at weekends. I feel like I got an overdose of documentaries at weekends, and left hungry for news. Weekdays there's too much time for news, that sometimes they had to put in some non-essential news pieces just to fill up time when big news aren't a lot. The news-documentary ratio could be more well-balanced over the week.

Final Score has returned to the BBC World news schedule, with the new screen layout, including the very accurate British time clock. Rolling Eyes
Looks like it's in a position where it could be covered over by the BBC World News DOG if they wanted.

Given that it's giving the scores for British football matches isn't it actually helpful - as it lets you know when matches are due to end?

Considering it airs at 17:30 UK, which is after most of the matches have finished, I don't actually think it adds anything.

I'll go one even further and state that I don't think Final Score should be on BBC World at all!

Why should it? I know the EPL is popular around the world, but so are the French, German, Spanish, Italian and Brazilian primary leagues and they don't get their own weekly results shows on this Global News channel.

Cheap programming? British bias?

It's cheap programming, it's the world's most watched football league, and it happens to take place in the country the BBC is based in.
