Katty's been filing special reports on the royal baby too, so the BBC have clearly sent her over. From memory, when Matt Frei presented domestic bulletins here Katty or another presenter filled in in Washington. Regarding the camera focussing on an empty desk and then the newswall, World News surely have a shot 'saved' for starting at the newswall, in case the News Channel had to decamp there during the day. Therefore, I'm sure something's just been loaded wrongly into a running order - I would have thought they were using the normal London-based director, instead of the one in Washington. World News America has quite a simple studio operation, from memory, because its 'gallery' is so limited. Am I right in thinking London has always played out reports and such?
Not sure why World News America is now broadcasting from the London HQ. Maybe Kathy Kay happens to be in London or they're really hyped about the royal baby like someone mentioned. But, it's something fresh we don't get to see that often. Something caught my eye on the edition of it just now, it seems they programmed the cameras for Kathy just as they programmed for a business reporter. Since World News America has a thing for the anchor standing when opening the news at times, this time round, the moment we come back from the introductory newsclips, we see the camera pans to the main desk, with an empty seat, and the quickly changes to the 'catwalk' where Kathy is. It does feel weird, as if there's some mistakes if one is not familiar with their sets. On business report, it's alright since we're aware that there was an anchor sitting there recapping news a moment ago before the business presenter takes over.
An interesting note that Kathy is bothered by the hot weather in London judging by her twitter updates, and also she mentioned she sympathized with the Duchess for being pregnant in such hot weather when closing her show just now.

I wouldn't be entirely surprised if Katty ends up presenting from outside the hospital or Buckingham Palace this evening (although that might clash with the Ten O'Clock News logistics-wise).

The Newsday aston appeared a couple of minutes later then the whole lot disappeared, but there wasn't any Newsday titles or the split screen to Singapore...

Rico Hizon is cast aside for the moment to give full coverage to the royal news I'd say, so much for his promo about Asia Business Report, with it having no audio too yesterday. But maybe ABR might still come on later. Babita is not sitting at her usual position, and her name ticker comes on on the left of our screen, but she sits now to the rightmost of our screen. It seems like some guest might be with her soon.
[Update]: It's Sharanjit today. Yes Singapore's presenter still appears despite not introducing in tandem with Babita.
She did say 'Welcome to Newsday' I think.

Yup, Sharanjit Leyl, the other Newsday presenter. It's interesting that Babita is speaking to her through her side screen like a correspondent, rather than the usual dual screen conversation.
[Update]: Asia Business Report has given way to some documentary about royal births in the British monarchy.
Some lady is in Singapore at the moment for a reaction to ther news there, with a guest, in a Newsday-style handover. They've got boards with 'Newsday' branding on them covering up two of the windows.
