I haven't seen or heard Sophie reporting for a while and she hasn't tweeted since 1st November (through she was not a regular tweeter before then) so prehaps she is on a break before she takes up the LA role.

She reported just a few weeks ago in London as News Correspondent, around the time Peter Bowes was in London, who is now back in LA.

Sophie has just appeared on the evening news from California and has updated her twitter to say LA correspondant.

It seems Jane Hill is no longer with the bbc. I emailed her bbc email address and received a response saying email has been rejected as email address no longer exists!

I dont think that counts as a verifiable source that someone is no longer with a company, didn’t the BBC do a thing a while back making most of their presenters not employed by them directly? Also her twitter still says he’s a journalist with them, and given how long she’s been part of the team for, she would probably get a send off live on air like they have done with Matthew (when he moved to World), Carrie (when she was going to China), Gavin and Maxine (when they were directly leaving presenting duties at the BBC), to name a few.
