There’s been a spelling error on the ticker this afternoon: “Cornoavirus”. Since the headlines are generated by RSS I checked the business section of the website and it’s the top story but coronavirus does not appear in front of the headline like it does in the ticker. However when you visit the article it’s spelled incorrectly. I know the BBC World News doesn’t have a ticker editor but surely the spelling mistake should be noticed online and corrected. Now I’m not saying typos don’t happen and I certainly have made my fair share. But shouldn’t someone have noticed this it’s been online and on air for about four hours.

Don’t let anyone treat you like you’re a VO/SOT when you’re a PKG.

How do they measure that though. Counting hotel rooms with the channel available I'd imagine forms part of it, but no way of knowing what's actually being watched ?

Does anybody know how many people are watching BBC World News at any one time on average? I’ll be interested to see how it compares to the News Channel and BBC One.

It would be a bit difficult to know that, because of its availablity in so many countries, all with various ethods of working out who's watching what, it would be a monumnetal task right now, to work out how many worldwide are watching BBC World News. That's often why international news channels, BBC World News included, will talk about the reach they have, rather than how many are watching, cos that's easier to determine.

Even the press release above has some weird version of the Gill logo Rolling Eyes

Minor presentation nit-picky point though. The story is great for the BBC and should rightly be recognised by the government.

They are using last year stats however when they had all those shows, it will be interesting to see what happens this year now it’s all bbc world news.

We counted down to 00:00 for a combined bulletin presented by Ben Brown from Studio E just now. At the end of the world countdown, we then got another ten seconds of countdown filler without clock before cutting to Ben in the studio.

Same on the news channel. Camera stuck zoomed in it seems and trundle/wide failed to move.
