Yes, you’re right Rob. The toblerone also featured in the very original rendition of The World. Back in the days when George Alagiah and Brian Hanrahan were the presenters, and long before Zeinab Badawi’s arrival.

They then moved to the crescent shaped desk you showed in the next photo. What a relief!

Back in those days, The World at least had some distinction in being a more in-depth newscast. Unlike its successor (World News Today) which is just another news bulletin.

Going back to main N9. I recall the weekend when the far left wall was painted from cream to red. The secondary set in N9 was used for all broadcasts during that weekend.

^ That countdown!

Ben Geogehan? I always liked him as a presenter.

Thanks for the N9 nostalgia. Love it. I forgot all about that Sport Today desk. Hated it!

IIRC, the programme in those days (using that desk) had a deep orange and black backdrop, which I always assumed was CSO. Was it actually a hard backdrop?

Edit: Blimey! Just noticed John Terrett in the lower image on the previous page. Real blast from the past. And I also much preferred the revised desk with the gap in the middle. Bumper cars, as stated. Odd config having the guest plonked between the presenters. But no option.

And another, complete with studio pan shot after the titles.

She left the BBC and then returned freelance and appeared on Breakfast for a while. Then completely left.

She now does commentary on a freelance basis for big golf and tennis grand slams.

Sadly, she had a bad leg break last year whilst playing football. Still hobbling at the moment. Nice lady.

Sue Thearle, where did she disappear too, don't think we ever saw her after the move to NBH.

Lots of sport commentary now I believe! Golf and tennis primarily.

Yes she is a regular on WTA and more recently ATP world feed tennis commentary.

She's up there with some of the best in that realm.
Hello, good evening, and remain indoors.

Presents on the Wimbledon World Feed as well.
