Where did today’s World Business Report come from never seen it.

Why does BBC World News continue to waste what seems to me, money and resources on 5 minute WBR and Sport Today’s? Do we still really need to see these annoying repetitive features before the top of the hour, which seem to be longer than a live edition of WBR and sport today. I just don’t get it, most of the time the channel seems like a big advert.

Happy New Year.

It came from the new Delhi studio that looks very similar to one of the World Service studios in New Broadcasting House.

How many studios does BBC World have across the globe then?

Any more than New Delhi, Singapore and Washington?

The new Nairobi bureau has a studio similar to New Delhi’s, I believe.

The big difference for WBR and Sport is that being non-news, they can be sponsored.

The seriously need to color balance the camera’s (or get ones like at NBH) and fix the lighting.

The ABR studio uses some Panasonic ENG cameras, wonder what they use there?

Does this studio get a regular outing on BBC World News India then?, the technology within that studio looks pretty advanced for just as ad-hoc use.

Samantha Simmonds coming from the virtual studio (A?) today, with an utterly horrible rendering of the usual Studio C blue-sky backdrop.

Samantha has the green ready-brek outline, making the virtual backdrop very much visible. I guess the sky-blue backdrop doesn’t work so well in this virtual set-up? Normally they go for the standard BBC News swirls backdrop when decamping to the virtual studio.
