I'd not appreciated just how low the ceiling height is in those areas until I saw those pics.
Must me a pain to light.

Yes - they are office-space conversions, rather than 'real' studios.

Standing presentation must challenge lighting yet further.

Those studios have often had less-than-ideal on-screen looks. 'Meet The Author' is recorded in one of them I believe - and never looks particularly great in vision and lighting terms. I guess controlling spill from office lighting and windows is a challenge.

I've noticed that they have changed the colour of the upper lightbox (only on the right). Prior to the new screens, it wasn't seen as much in shot. It is now red rather than white...

Also, the lower lightbox below the view of the skyline is looking a bit off-red at the top of it...

Is it just me who thinks that the BBC News sets are starting to look like a real mishmash? So many strange angles/perspectives, screens that look out of place, nothing lined up, not many clean lines etc? They aren't a patch on the clean, minimalist set designs introduced in 1999.
Brekkie, harshy and all new Phil gave kudos

I certainly don't think the larger screens are necessary in Studio C

I think they look awful, apart from the one used for Marr etc which looks decent in most uses. Don’t understand why they didn’t just have 3 studios identical to that when designing the building.

Those two washed-out lightboxes are starting to bug me. Also, notice how the interviewee is overshadowed by the huge screen.

Maybe Studio C needs maintenance or is it just incorrectly misconfigured?

They are too big in Studio E as well.

I love the studios and think they still look fresh and new after all of these years. That said, I don't like the new red box, looked better white.

I like the shade of red on the new lit light box. It’s better than the bright red on the rest.

A bit like East Midland’s set where the red light box behind overpowers the red sofa.

I think we will find out when business briefing or wbr is on if these light boxes are doing funny things with the colour.

The lower one looks gubbed and stuck on white at the top.
