I'm not sure of it's name - but i've seen a piece of kit that slowly moves the image around the screen by about 30-40 pixels to save burn in.

Slow enough not to notice by eye, but enough to avoid burn-in of images.

Lots of screens have that built in, but it doesn't actually prevent burn in - if you have a high contrast logo, that's bigger than the movement size, all it will do is blur the edges of the burn in, if it's smaller than the movement, you just get a burnt in smudge instead. Both are less noticeable than a sharp logo, but they're still visible.

Are the monitors left on when not on air displaying the default identity? I know some places will leave them on but will run some sort of video to prevent screen burn. I saw one from KABC and it was pretty wild with fast moving objects and the colors wildly changing.

I’m surprised it hasn’t happened to the ones in Studio C especially as it’s hot most of the time. Then the ones in E.

I've seen a black screen with a slowly moving modulated circle wipe pattern in grey - which is bright enough to show you the screen is on, but moves around enough and is dim enough to reduce the issues of burn in.

You also have to be aware of this with OLED production monitors these days. Bars will burn in...

I don't think I've seen the studio that the current edition of Hard Talk was recorded in before. I'm guessing it's one of the language service studios or similar?

I think it's the same flexible/multipurpose space that they use mostly for other BBC languages - also known as Studio L. It's split into two areas which can be used as a desk set up or with chairs/sofas. I think BBC Parliament were known to use a very similar smaller version of this set up in the business area of Broadcasting House which is/was Studio K (but think this may have been changed/removed last year?) Both have been there from the opening of extended Broadcasting House. If you look closely, you can see that they've pulled a blackout curtain across to hide the usual newsroom view as there's the odd glimmer of light shining through. Obviously they've altered the lighting too. You can see the curtain pulled back in the picture below.

The space must in demand a fair bit as they've grown the number of language video bulletins because a few months ago they added another studio. Its set is a hybrid of London News and Victoria Derbyshire. But not sure what studio this is called?

I'd not appreciated just how low the ceiling height is in those areas until I saw those pics.
Must me a pain to light.

It can’t be in India because Karin then appears on the balcony in the NBH Newsroom.

It's a spillover studio at NBH in London where pre-recorded segments are often filmed for BBC Outside Source and which can't be accommodated in Studio J earlier in the day due to it's use for other weather segments, etc.

Also where the battery of screens behind the presenter and guest is needed to better illustrate the story and which cannot (for obvious reasons) be accommodated in Studio J, unlike B and C.

Trust me it’s in India. She posted a near exact photo on Instagram.

On the same day she posted about being in the Dehli studio.

I'm guessing it is a similar style of studio, but it certainly isn't the same. If it was, why would they be producing Russian bulletins there?

I stand corrected. But around the same time the image was posted Karin posted a picture of herself in an identical studio.
