For those curious how the new BBC World News studio will look like when they move to Broadcasting House, here is a preview:

They look really good. Just hope they look as good as that when built

That looks really, really superb - can't wait to see what the domestic stuff will look like. Those studios make N8 look a right dump! BBC WORLD, you are in luck.

Whatever World News gets, I am sure Domestic News and News Channel will get better.

Am I correct in thinking that there are two studios in the link? As the Generic and GMT impressions have subtle differences

That looks nice. Seems like there's one big set with 2 parts, first with main desk and second part with newswall and red chairs.

But this pic looks like a separate set.

Looks absolutely fantastic! If these renders reflect what Broadcasting House's facilities will be like in reality, BBC News' presentation will surely be the best in the world.

I don't think the image you've posted is a separate set, to me it looks like a different render of the same design. The lined glass panels and circular shape seem to indicate that. The first generic render and the GMT renders also look like the same basic design with superficial differences.

I think "BBC WN Studios - Artist's Impressions Generic (3)" is a different studio, as it looks radically different from the others, and seems to have a frosted glass wall looking out into what is perhaps the main newsroom.

Very exciting, I look forward to watching World News from here in Australia. Pardon me if this has already been asked and answered, but as I visit this forum infrequently I was wondering if late March was still the intended launch date?

We've been told they will move before the Olympics. I think I've heard June. March is when the sport updates will start to come from Salford.

The sets do look great but it is just an artist's impression, which can often be quite different to the finished product.

Yes. I like. It's approved!

Hope we don't have too much of standing-up news though!!

Is the channel being renamed BBC Global News, or is that just a promo thing?

Thanks Bogaboy19 for the excellent link.

I think BBC Global News refers to BBC World News, BBC World Service and bbcnews.com - from what I gather it already exists as a name.

What I love about these impressions is that they haven't just gone for a replica BARCO set-up like we have in N6 and TC7 at the moment. They're actually proper sets!

No-one else notice the layout similarities, and otherwise major differences, between

Actually the last I heard from one of the insiders on here was that London were likely just refurbishing their existing studio, even though it had originally been intended to as a temporary home...

ETA:

I have heard from somewhere that London will relocating elsewhere in the building temporarily, having their current studio overhauled, then moving back. I can't quite remember who told me that, though, so I'm not sure how much truth can be attached to it.
