That ident is new but it's not used all the time, the old one is still used too thankfully.

Ah, I see.

Anyway, I found a video of the odd ident they used during a fault.

Sorry for being off topic.

That's not a fault at all, that's a live coverage sting. It was first used in the 1997 branding with the flags and is used to precede breaking news with a live insert, usually breaking news where it cuts live to the OB rather than breaking with a studio input.

No, I meant the ident before the "live coverage" sting.

Another Red Monday on BBC World today, as pointed out by Karin Giannone on Twitter. Starting from early morning and in this sequence, all of today's female presenters have been wearing bright red again: Naga, Geeta, Zeinab and now Karin.

apparently it's something to do with lifting ones own spirits after the weekend is over. So, there ya go!

Technically should be in requests, but it's an overarching BBC World thing too, is there a way to watch back episodes of programmes on BBC World News in the UK? I ask because I'm wondering if anybody knows how I can watch or does anybody have copies of Impact 2pm from last Thursday and Friday? Thought if anybody knew it would be on this thread!

Emmm don't think so. Nothing on the iPlayer anyway, only World News programme that's on the iPlayer is GMT. Only because I think GMT is showing also on BBC2.

You can watch World Business Report (0530 UKT), GMT and World News Today on the iPlayer, some stay longer than others, and theyre usually at the bottom of the list. You can sometimes find a whole weeks worth of World Business Report.

Quite amusing: Martine Dennis reading the news from the pod, introduced a recap of an earlier interview shown on Impact, in which Lucy Hockings Interviews a studio guest. And in the background, right behind the guest in clear view within the newsroom, stood up speaking on her mobile phone is........the same Martine Dennis.

Spilt personality?

Reminds one of the old eigthies loop from the BBC newsroom where Moira is reading the news, whilst also walking behind in the newsroom at the same time.

Biz Ben Thompson mentioned on Twitter that he's just filmed a trailer for a new BBC World series, one imagines it's business related. Any ideas what it is, folks?

BBC World's Impact (with Lucy Hockings today) is taking the One with Sophie Raworth for the two top stories of the day: Greek debt crisis and Cannes summit, and the Pakistani cricketers sentencing.

World news bulletins will look different from Monday onwards, in the 15G and 18G hours. New brand launching? These are the intermediate regular bulletins which have come back into the schedules with the realignment to Greenwich Mean Time.

Let's see!

Maybe double-headers?

The schedule has already changed from 31st October. UK time has shifted to GMT. Impact and The Hub have not moved as they are both time locked to GMT anyway, so effectively all other programmes are now airing an hour later with exception of the two World News bulletins that air at 1500 & 1800GMT (previously 1300 & 1600GMT ) and World News America.

One presenter usually covers the news between 1300UKT and 1900UKT, that is two World News bulletins, and the Headlines during Impact and the Hub. (IIRC its Geeta (Mon), Lucy (Tue-Thur) and Timmy Tim Tim on Fridays.)

BBC World News America is time locked to Washington time (which is currently still in EDT), and therfore will move forward an hour in relation to the rest of the schedule for two weeks until Washington switches to EST, when it will move back to its original times.

The programmes have simply moved, so a new look or new branding or double headed presentation are very very unlikely, although Rico Hizon gets an extra hour in bed... probably. This happens every year. Very Happy

EDIT: just seen the tweet... but still sceptical.
