They have a new ident slide and sting which randomly pops up for no reason in the midst of breakfillers. I noticed that it also bears a pale grey date watermark in the bottom right hand side of the screen. You need to look very closely for the date. It's MMX, for some bizarre reason.

We are now in MMXI surely?

It sounds like they've recycled the closing titles (as seen on the TWT slot) but not noticed there's a date on it, or that it's last year for that matter!

I noticed those red lights being switched on for Zeinabs programme last night. Nice, IMO. They could make it blue, red, orange or purple for the other segments surely?

Anchor seated in a slightly different position on today's programmes, further along the desk towards the edge used on Impact. It gives a nice framing effect on the wide shots with the news wall in the background. Different head-on shot as well. And the intermediate wide shot now displays a very white background as opposed to the clear glass one.

They are being quite inventive on World of late. (within the limits that the small set imposes).

For those wishing to capture, it's the bulletins currently being presented by Karin Giannone. And just as I write this edit, the head-on shot has reverted to the normal one! Has she moved her chair along?

I don't get to watch World very often, but would I be right in saying that they are making a much more flexible use of N8 with its static set, than the NC do of N6 with its Barcos that are meant to be flexible?

It seems that different programmes in N8 look very different whereas everything in N6 looks the same.

Did they swap out the BBC World Ident with a variation of the news intro? I saw that before newsday at around 23:00.

I saw that also. I also saw some technical issues around 0300 NZDST, commercials were cut to with Mike Embly (I think) in mid-sentence and there seamed to be an abnormally long delay cutting away at the end of that programme also.

Did anyone else see this?

Are you watching a Network that puts local commercials on, or are you watching one that features the Breakfiller?

occasionally Networks miss the scheduled break time and adverts go on at the wrong time,

TVNZ opt-in to BBC World as filler between the end of their last network program (Ususally the news in Maori) and 0530 NZDST. As far as I'm aware it's taken from the same feed used by SKY Digital on Optus D1 which has breakfiller.

There are ads, but they feature foreign banks and lots of ads for Malaysia so I suspect they are not inserted by TVNZ. I don't think TVNZ even show a DOG over BBC World anymore
