World had some very creative camera work yesterday on Impact, The Hub and WNT Zeinab. Loads of creative new angles, zooms, and Zeinab even standing up! Nik Gowing had the camera almost above his head for most of The Hub.

I guess that's why they were in N9 at the weekend, so the cameras could be adjusted?

Us in the UK can see these new camera techniques on the iPlayer, on World News Today. It looks very nice and it's good to see N8 being used as best it can - rather than the standard head shot and side shot for the whole program.

Maybe N6 will take a leaf out of the N8 camera setup. Wink

So BBC WORLD NEWS is making profit now? The article seems to suggest. http://www.medianewsline.com/news/146/ARTICLE/8195/2011-09-06.html

Did anyone see the Sport Today opening shot? It was wide from over the desk with a long zoom into the barco screen. Nice

I was watching a video filmed in the BBC New York bureau (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b08Klwhj-I4) and it featured these screens in the newsroom with a strange feed of BBC News.

Can anyone offer an explanation to what they are, where they come from and what their purpose is? I'm just curious!

I don't think it's a UK feed anyway, only saying that because on the ticker it has the BBC Logo. We don't have that on the UK Ticker.

I have a feeling it's just a system which grabs the headlines from the BBC News website and displays it in the office.

Just found this pic online, it looks like the Broadcasting House Newsroom outfit is underway.

This rig will probably be raised to the ceiling.

It looks like it will be, yes - those look like screens (presumably LED) around the edge too.
