I wish they'd rebrand that studio, and make it bigger as well.
I doubt they can make it much bigger - they are, after all, confined by space. However painting/ re-colouring the pillars white and replacing the dreadful desk would be much better.
I think I know the building where the BBC "studio" is in Singapore. It's in a tower block which contains a complex of a few office towers. If I am correct, then I think it's safe to say that the "studio" isnt really a studio at all, but rather a converted executive office, overlooking the city. I imagine that there are considerable space constraints, detracting from the ability to do much conversion. Renting a bigger place would alse be quite expensive in SIN.
Essentially, the Singapore studio is the BBC office! Don't think it shared with any other outlet.
Also, in your capture above, isn't the "window" behind the guest on the right, actually a plasma screen showing footage of the exterior? IIRC, Rico often refers to that plasma during ABR for the market and currency numbers.
Another unfortunate issue is the pillars you can see on the outside, leaving a very narrow window space meaning anything widescreen will include the red pillars - that's a hard one to work around. It could easily be brought into line with the BBC studios though easily with a small N6 style desk, and keeping that in shot with the keyboard/papers on top if possible.
I remember seeing the plasma once before. However, it didn't take up the entire width or height of the window, IIRC. It's as if it is wheeled in or something like that.
It would be great to combine a view of the newsroom, depending on how big that is, and the great views of Singapore that they have from the tower building they're in.
Something similar, but not identical to a set-up like this perhaps. Investing in Barcos for the long-term, since Singapore is the only other studio outside of Washington and London.

Barcos however may not be feasible if space is an issue.
Is Singapore really the best place to be though? CNN base their Asian hub in Hong Kong while Al Jazeera were up to recently in Kuala Lumpar, Maybe they should consider moving. Beijing would be a very interesting back drop

I know its been mentioned already that Newsday is coming from N6 overnight at the moment... is there any reason why it is, is it something that's temporary or permanent.

Just for the week I believe. Something about maintenance?

Yes, I believe they're planning on removing the desk in N8 so that the presenters have to stand by the Barco all the time. However, it also entails work on the router which ensures it'll never be seen on the News Channel ever again.
I think they're doing some electrical safety testing too.
