Is UK Reporter just the new name for UK Report? Nice new set of straps in use on this (re-named) programme, albeit rather strange to see Karin Giannone presenting the bulletin from the BBC Television Centre carpark, with the iconic brick building and circular lights in the background.

I throughly enjoyed the program last night, even though BBC World News crashed out of it rather awkwardly at the top of the hour. Considering the quality of the reporting and analysis on Newsnight , I wonder BBC World News doesn't carry it live on a regular basis. Is it too UK-focused on most nights?
tonight's Newsnight (presented by Stephanie Flanders) will be live on World.

I don't think it would be appropriate to broadcast the full version at least - as you said, it is UK-focused. Sometimes the top story will be deemed important in the UK but not internationally.

Oops. Poor Jamie Robertson in an almost unfortunate slip of the tongue, as he tried over and over again to pronounce the currency "Swiss Franc". No prizes for guessing what came out instead!!

You're going to have to enlighten me, as I'm being a bit blonde LOL!

Er, Gaz. A word that rhymes with Swiss Franc, but actually begins with the letter w. That's all I'm gonna say.

Newsnight is only 30 minutes on Friday - though I think it usually starts at around 2232, so only the last couple of minutes would have been chopped off.

I've been looking around the web for a while now, just wondering if Jane O'Brien is the permanent replacement for Matt Frei on World News America or have they announced someone else?

Nothing has been said yet, although it seemed natural to me that Katty gets the main job. How many times a week does she do it at the moment? UK viewers can't watch WNA anymore even though it's 30 minutes now.
