If only the BBC News channel could take a leaf out of BBC World News' presentation. It's far superior to that of the News channel.

If only there was an individual who would keep asking for such action over and over on a public forum.

It's a good shot, but that background really doesn't work on it.

Come to think of it, it does look very fake. Perhaps it'd be good with the map background?

The map background is rather good, SNT. I think that would be a good position for The Hub. That small red and white dalek he sits next to each night is starting to look more and more Blue Peter every day.

BBC World News are taking the BBC News at Ten tonight with Huw live at Westminster.

Interesting how they started the simulcast though - they ran Huw's tease from Westminster, but replaced Fiona's roundup of the national headlines with Mike Embley's roundup of world news, then ran World titles and an awkward segue from Mike back to Huw (presumably to cover the varying length of the opening sequence between World and UK). Always a treat to get national bulletins on World, though.

EDIT: And Huw throws back to Fiona. Prompting Mike Embley to pop on and say "Well, I'll be Fiona."

Yep, handled very... interestingly!

I've always found Mike Embley a bit Emperor's New Clothes. A bit like George Alaghia (as a presenter).

Geeta is once again on College Green, for the 4pm London time bulletin. Given that she's out of the studio, I see an unknown face taking her place in the World studio. Does anyone know who he is?

They just forgot to fade down his mic just now when they went to a report, so we could hear him (whomever he is) singing in the background, still unaware that he was on air.
