Apologies if this has already been discussed but looking at the listing for BBC World News on digiguide looks like a new programme starts in June called Newsday from 0100 ... live from London and Singapore

And it seems the BBC News Channel is taking Asia Business Report and Sport Today as well as Newsday, so no more ABC World News

The programme that is still shown in a 4:3 ratio on BBC News Channel with awful picture and sound quality!!

Opening seems nice in yellow.

Why don't they use the same branding for 3 hours of European mornings, like CNN used to do with CNN Today.

The ratio actually seems to vary through the year, though I'm not sure if that's because they're stretching 4:3 or showing 14:9/16:9. All that said, it would be a shame if CBS News was now the only US Newscast shown on British TV, especially as ABC News is no longer available through iTunes.

I think CNBC show Nightly News sometimes, so at the minute we get the big 3.

OK, thanks. I know they used to but then stopped. Also a bit cross that we lost World News America when it moved schedule.

Do you think that Asia Business Report will get a new look to tie in with this as well? That first clip with the red globe is suggestive. World Business Report certainly needs it, after the same music for more than 10 years (although it does the job perfectly well) and the same boring graphics. Hopefully a new studio in Singapore, that is certainly needed.

That looks very uncomfortable and squashed. It must look even smaller in real-life!

Babita is really proving herself as well; on-screen she comes across as very likeable. Equally, Rico is a really professional and engaging presenter.

I have to say, I really like those Newsday graphics. Reminds me a little of GMTV, fortunately not content-wise though! Overnights are going to look a bit more exciting from Monday. They normally feel a bit sleepy and sombre.

It's good to see that BBC News Channel viewers are getting to see this programme as well. I think it makes sense for the two channels to share more programming when necessary. I have to agree that losing World News America on BBC NC is a shame as well; I liked that programme and an alternative to the CBS evening News on the same slot on BBC News. I don't know why they got rid of it.

I like these BBC World News brands. They work unlike CNN's, which focuses way too much on the presenters and these stupid names like Connect the World and Prism. Guff!!

I think that this sphere branding present on the BBC Persian service for example could really work in the next branding. I think you could tie the globe in the sphere and also works with the BBC weather orb as well. The BBC Monitoring have a very nice logo which ties in with what I'm saying.

Really hope they update that set, it's embarassing for BBC. They have an amzing view, just need to fix the ugly desk and frames around windows.

I'm assuming Adnan Nawaz is being bumped for this (he's quite competant but a bit monotone)!! Still, I just can't imagine Babita doing the NC marathon shift of business on Friday afternoons - she's done exceptionally well for just a year or two!!!

Actually, he could being doing 'Sport Today' at the back of every hour. Nice to see we really will get a quality news schedule here "in the UK and right around the world". They should even start the simulcasts at 0000UKT.

I'm not sure I quite understand your post, but Babita hasn't presented business on the NC for quite a while now. My guess would be Babita will present Monday-Thursday, perhaps, with Adnan on Sports Today filling in for her. Presumably the Beeb would then hire a new presenter to cover Fri-Sun, unless that's what Adnan will do?
