Nisha Pillai - now runs her own media and public speaking business, is a conference moderator, successful after-dinner speaker, and still freelances as a BBC World senior anchor, albeit rarely.
Lindsey Brancher - has left media and is now a magistrate somewhere in England;
David Jessel - I think holds a legal role in industry, of some sort;
David Brenner - left in 2009. Not sure where he is now.
Rob Bonnet - ditto, but has just re-appeared on ExtraTime.
In addition to Nik, Lyse, Mike, Martine and Mishal, other presenters from the 2001-2006 era who still remain at BBC World today, include Peter Dobbie, Geeta Guru-Murthy, David Eades, Lucy Hockings and - of course - Tanya Beckett and Zeinab Badawi.
for those, who are interested in bbc world's videocaptures from 2001-2006 era, you can find some of them here http://www.youtube.com/user/djriki0?feature=mhum#g/u
i didn't notice when and why nisha pilai, lyndsey brancher, david jessel, david branner or rob bonnet left. Do anyone know where they are working now? I tried to google it, but without results. Presenters who left for me are only nik, lyse, mike, martine and mishall

There seems to be some misalignment of countdowns during the simulcast at weekends, and I have noted the same thing happening on a few occasions now. The World countdown crashes into the headlines at around +5s. So, either the countdown is running late by 5seconds, or the bulletin is started early? I can only imagine it's the former.
Just happened again now with Deborah MacKenzie's 0500am London bulletin.
How could this have happened?

And now the opposite is occurring. The countdown finishes, and we are now getting a static ident for a good 2-3 seconds before the bulletin actually rolls. Opposite extremes today.
Edit: Karthi has just wished good luck to Mike Bushell, who is running his first London marathon soon, and "also to Peter Dobbie, who is a veteran of the London Marathon". Nice of her to recognise their efforts at the wrap of Sport Today a few moments ago.

How is this important or notable in TV presentational terms?
I understand your enthusiasm, but it's as mis-placed as telling us the daily temperature in Wagga-Wagga on a continual basis.
It's not necessary!

Wow. Steady-on, old chap. This is World. Group hug. Group hug.
Anyone got any idea what's wrong with the counting-down today?

The post I made was in relation to BBC World's post about those who have left BBC World News. I was trying to help update his information, It is notable because his position has changed meaning the information is Inaccuaute and although there is BBC News Presenter and Rota thread it would make no sense to display the information there as it would break up the flow of the topic.

It had to be said. I'm sorry Daniel.

HO
That was on the Breakfast thread
I think it's fair for BBC World News' thread to contain presenter talk - you can't expect international viewers to trawl through 'Kate Silverton on Breakfast today'-talk over in the rotas thread.
