BBC World News - to 14th January 2013

Just been watching GMT on BBC 2, unless it's changed recently but don't they usually turn off the ticker for the programs similcast on BBC 2 or BBC 4?

That occasionally happens by accident, but it's often seen recently.

Did I hear correctly, but Martine Dennis just said at the bottom of the hour: "stay with us, there is much more to come here on The World Today"? Freudian slip, perhaps?

Looking forward to World News Today with Zeinab Badawi later tonight. Zeinab is actually off, but the programme will be presented by Lyse Doucet in Tunis, and Nisha Pillai in London. Great combination indeed.

Does anybody know who is replacing Jonathon Charles ?

Maybe more of a presenters/rota sort of topic but I would imagine someone like Nicholas Owen would be very good in a role like that. This is more based on my memories of him on the ITV 12:30 news rather then his recent BBC work.

I know it sounds crazy but on wikipedia it says "Ranvir Singh", but that page looks like it's been vandalised! I think they should just give Martine Dennis most of it and stick on say, Clive Myrie, Kirsty Lang, Martine Croxall, or Komla Dumor on a Monday.

BBC World News is from N9 today. Is it because of maintenance, or are there set modifications in the works?

BBC World News was also in N9 yesterday (Saturday) as well. Not sure why. Maybe routine stuff.

Martine Dennis is good and one of the pioneers on World. However, Komla is growing on me too. He has quite a unique style. Naga is taking a while to grow on me.
