Let's see how it goes. Naga and komla would not have been my own choices as I fell the twt slot needs a more established name. However, it's an interesting choice, if not perhaps a seniority one.
Something must have happened in the studio this morning. Martine Dennis and the wonderful Sara Coburn were doing the TWT slot, when the second edition of WBR and ST was dropped and replaced by Our World. When they cAme back at the top of the next hour, David Eades was in the old BBC World studio, and was indeed for a few hours. Stephen Sackur is now back in the normal studio for GMT however.
Komla Dumor I could probably understand because of his work on The World Today (World Service Radio at 4am), and the fact he is all over the BBC Global Minds site at the moment; but if it's him and Naga then I will be quite disappointed I'd expect. Naga can be good, but she is constantly repeating herself, which always makes her seem quite monotinous and whenever she says "let's get the headlines this hour", I roll my eyes beacuse half the times she's on the NC! Komla is too, and has a big personality, just like JC, so that might work but if that would, I'd want Martine Dennis to do the bulk of these shifts; despite her dreadful lack of timing and saying "this morning" yet on World, she's brilliant with her relaxed yet husky voice, and is used to the shift anyway so why not stick her on Tuesday-Friday and get Komla in on a Monday, for example.
That studio's closed to my knowledge, was it TC7 perhaps?
N9 is mothballed, not closed. I think it can still be used in an emergency. In any case, if it happened at 06:00 GMT, Breakfast would be using TC7, so it had to be N9. I'm sure James will be able to confirm.

Yes, it was definitely the old N9 BBC World studio. It all appeared to happen fairly hurriedly. David Eades did a full bulletin of tight-crop head-on shot only. However, at the bottom of the hour, Sara Coburn used the wide shot with the old plasma screen over her shoulder.
I like that studio, to be honest. The background did look deserted, however.
