Was just watching World News Today with Zeinab Badawi and unusually, at 2000GMT Zeinab left and Tanya Beckett took over, interesting to note how Tanya's tone was so serious - even with Chilean Moner Marathon story! Do presenters often leave halfway through?

I think the reason that Zeinab left early was that she had already covered for George Alagiah on GMT today.

The only bit of World I normally see is about the last quarter hour of the UK 5am to 6am hour simulcast.

Is Sally Bundock(?) expecting?

Is that annoying Aussie business feller still about?

Haven't seen him for a bit!

Yes, I was curious to see Tanya doing the second hour of WNT as well. Maybe it will be a permanent thing, since the clocks have changed and since Business Edition has reduced in length.

I like Tanya as a newsreader. I think her style is good.

Assuming you mean Aaron Heslehurst, I've seen him doing the business updates on the UK edition of GMT, so yes.

Did anyone bring this up at the time?

Same happened last night, as is normally the case on a Friday. Jamie Robertson took over for the second hour, although it was a normal branded BBC World News from the barstools, and not World News Today from the desk.

A few noteworthy events on World today:

- Are the Mastheads now in a different font? GMT / Impact / The Hub / all appeared to be in "Arial" (pardon my ignorance), as opposed to wotsit font? Same comment about the "Breaking News" strap - it looked to me to be in a different font;

- Impact Asia is now called only "Impact". Since when? And - AFAIK, today is the first edition of "Impact". And was anchored by Geeta, and not Mishal. With Dobster doing the news.

- Slightly modified background for Geeta today, and slightly brighter orange used in the split screens, etc;

- Flip flop on The Hub tonight, with Tim Willcox leading and Peter Dobbie newscasting from the stools. Was the complete reverse last week (Peter anchoring, and Tim reading);

- New Sports Anchor (Irish guy called "Arron**", I think) just handed back to Tim, but called him Nik! Tim - as ever the pro - carried on regardless.

- Mr. Alagiah co-anchoring The Hub live from Afghanistan.

**he's otherwise very good, by the way.

I was surprised by the ''Impact'' change, seems like they don't want to focus on Asia in that newscast anymore. Surprised

Just when CNN started a new Asian prime time line up. Laughing

I think "Impact World" would be a more suitable name IMO.

Or "Impact Your World"? Maybe not.
