How funny! What appeared to be an impromtu interview with speed-king Ussain Bolt on the set of BBC World News in the midst of a regular bulletin. Geeta Guru-Murty presenting a bulletin from the barstools handed over suddenly to Sarah Stirk at the main newsdesk, joined by Ussain seated in the co-anchor's usual position. A ten minutes (+/-) interview then followed. It was very much out-of-the-blue.
Welcome back to Impact, Mishal.

Is it Sandie Shaw? Is it Lulu?
No!! It's Zeinab Badawi anchoring World News Today, wearing a very sixties mini-dress a la Cilla.
BBC World is becoming a real haven for fashion, don't you think?
Excellent coverage of the Israeli Pal story today, with Lyse at the newsdesk at the height of it.

Christiane on BBC World News! Indeed, Zack, who would have thought it? I still can't imagine CNN without Christiane Amanpour. (Like gin without tonic, IMO).
I guess there are times when things just need to change.
As well as her vast knowledge of the Middle East, Lyse Doucet is also an immense authority on Pakistan and Afghanistan. I understand she will be flying back out to Pakistan soon for follow-up coverage of the flooding and the political and social aftermath.
Has Lucy Hockings left the channel? I haven't seen her on BBC World for a very long time, or perhaps just my viewing times haven't coincided?

I can't imagine CNN without her. She was everything to that news organization. Life moves on. O' well
I think Lucy is on Maternity Leave. I like her, hope she didn't leave.
lyse was excellent on the scene for the BBC. I will give it up to the BBC, they've been the place to go for authoritative coverage of the disaster. Securing the best interviews, being the first there, and not forgetting about the story.

Normally so. But this number was just too special to miss. Even Stevie Wonder would have noticed it.
Hey BBC WORLD, what is this about Lulu. You said recently that you are not one to even notice what the news corrspondents are wearing. Rattray

Back in the old studio today. Very strange lighting. Makes Peter Dobbie look very grey.
