1200 to 2000 ...well Tanya Beckett will have time to use the tube, but Zeinab Badawi will have to somehow teleport herself across London to present the 2000-2030 edition of World News Today.
Somehow I think this information is slightly wrong.
1200-2200 perhaps?
Hi guys, I have it on good authority that BBC World News will broadcast from 1200 to 2000 from NBH on Monday, gradually extending hours. Overnight dualcasts for World and the NC remain at TVC for the next two weeks or so.

I did see some of World News yesterday and hear the World Service and I thought they were giving far too much prominence to the Saville story, which in addition to the Kate portrait story took up a lot of the bulletin. It definitely feels like the BBC trying to over compensate for past mistakes by over covering. But if they want to be a serious global channel they should only feature stories about the UK when they are truly global stories - neither of the two yesterday were.
LOL. We're all anxious, it seems.
From a current content perspective, World led with the Savile story again yesterday, consuming almost half of the bulletin with the story. As I've mentioned before, whilst I would never disagree that it's major story in the UK, still not so sure about a World audience, given some of the other events developing globally yesterday.

I've never understood this attitude - why won't people around the globe know where Sheffield is? I wouldn't call myself a geographer, but I'm aware of places like Darwin, Bologna, Leipzig, Laramie (Wyoming) and I've never been to any of them.

I did notice yesterday as well that mentioned Sheffield in one of the links on the simulcast - I'm not sure a global audience will know where Sheffield is! It is hard to get the balance I suppose though as it would sound odd to the UK audience if they said it was in the UK.

I don't mind it. It's a British channel after all and just like CNNI gives attention to US topics, BBC World does the same with UK. Not to the same extent though, BBC also covers rest of the Europe much better than CNN.
When I want an in depth look at some UK story I expect more from BBCW than from other int news channels.

Travel time from Broadcasting House to White City's about 20 minutes on the Tube or by 35 minutes by car... so it isn't a prohibitively long journey to work in both centres!
Some staff have been going back and forth between TVC and W1 for months!
Years, even. For quite some time there was a Radio 4 continuity shift which started at TVC, and finished at BH, with the announcer having to cab it over during Today.
From what I've seen of the pilots so far, you may even be seeing some of the red box after the title sequence.

What's the travel time between BH and TVC? I presume George Alagiah will present GMT then travel across London? Is there anyone else who presents on domestic and international on the same day? Tim Willcox maybe.

If you don't want a British perspective on the top stories around the world then you shouldn't be getting your information from the British Broadcasting Corporation.
The Saville cases is a chilling one which is more than just a UK story - indeed it's such a big UK story I'd expect the worlds media would be taking an interest, while coverage is probably fairly rational compared to if it was an American celebrity in the same situation.

The purpose of this is to do a smooth transition until NC moves to NBH?
So, I expect that presentations for NC will still be the current one, while WN will use the new ones?
The return of the 2003 Gizmo?
