The thing I'm confused about is new broadcasting house and their studios are very modern in terms of looks and technology but things like that change and become outdated especially the interior.

Well there are the studio spaces, but what you will see on air are sets built in those studios. As tastes change, so to will the sets. And even the newsroom desks may be re-arranged in the future.

That preview is looking rather splendid. I look forward to it!

I don't know how this was missed - a powerpoint by the EBU on the move to NBH.

Here is some interesting stuff:

Moving in dates

January 14th – BBC World News go live
Late January – Overnight TV service goes live
March – Main TV Bulletins – 1, 6 , 10
Mid March – News Channel

Breakdown of the newsroom floor

This is the link to it in google preview mode.

EDIT: It was a presentation given on 11 Dec by Simon Ward, Assistant Editor for BBC Newsgathering.

Seems odd... perhaps the BBC were just showing off? I would like to know the real reason tho.

Would be lovely if someone could capture this trail and get it online. Thank you.

Something interesting about the trailers they are currently airing: I thought I read somewhere in this thread that after a vote on several different backdrops it was decided to use an image of the London skyline. Yet in the trailers the backdrop is always only the BBC World News logo. Last minute change or just an alteration for the trailers?

EBU members share their strategies and know-how at various conferences and presentations all the time. With public service broadcasting under all kinds of pressure across Europe, EBU members know they can learn a lot from the experiences of others.

Hopefully just an alteration for the trailers. I think sets which don't have some sort of image of an outside world, be it fake or real, look very claustrophobic and enclosed.

The trailers were all filmed in September, way before any backgrounds had been decided on

Well that explains it.

I just saw the trailer...looks amazing. The dramatic music helps. Perhaps, a David Lowe mix.
