Mabuhay!

The ident is only shown at the T.O.T.H. and B.O.T.H. for a few seconds because that's the time when regular BBC World Viewers will be switching on to watch their news programme. The ident is only there momentarily to tell the viewer that the programme he is watching is produced by (and credited to) Sky News.

Once again, I had excellent picture quality last night during the debate. Afterwards, we were taken over to the press room and a BBC lady (whom I have never seen before and with a Scottish/Irish accent) conducted a few interviews and gave analysis of the debate. I wonder if this particular lady was particularly covering the analysis for BBC World News, because whilst she was on air, we could see Emily Maitlis and others in the background also feeding into a separate camera which - I assume - was analysis aired only on BBC News 24?

The lady I am referring to was not announced or labelled on screen, so I am curious to know who she is!!!

Salamat.

(PS - loved the special editions of The Hub this week, covering the air travel chaos. It was splendid to see Nik Gowing, Lyse Doucet and Mishal Husain all presenting the programme on one particular day from three different locations. Good team.)

Sounds like Laura Kuenssberg to me, James. She's News 24's Chief Political Correspondent and is currently on air on a daily basis at the moment. I switched to N24 straight after the debate (couldn't stomach Kay Burley) and she was interviewing politicians in the press room, so I assume the coverage was on both N24 and BBC World. Maybe Emily was recording something for the BBC News at Ten?

Indeed it was Laura Kuenssberg & it was going out on both the BBC News Channel and BBC World News.

BBC One's Election night programme will be shown on BBC World, followed by lots of World-specific election specials:

Can't wait to watch the election on BBC World next week. It's an exciting campaign this time.

Impact Asia with Mishal Husain in Shanghai lost the link at the beginning of the second edition, so Tim had to do most of the links from the studio in London. I am also bemused as to why IA only airs 4 days per week. It can't be because of Mishal's other presentin commitments, because they could bring someone else to do her days off.

A bit of a juggled Friday today on World. If I am not mistaken, Martine Dennis stayed on and did an extra hour today. She presented her 4th hour from the barstools. Then Lucy Hockings for the next hour (9am London time). Today's edition of GMT was also presented by Lucy Hockings, although it was labelled as GMT with Stephen Sackur in the opening graphics! Didn't know that Stephen had his name on the titles. I don't think any other relief presenters have their names added to the titles (I.e. The Hub, WNT and IA).

He's not a relief presenter - Stephen Sackur is billed to present this every week.

Mishal Hussain works Sun-Thur, as she presents the National Bulletins on Sunday here in the UK.

I cant understand why BBC World News is still using the Old countown graphics and audio when BBC News has a new one as of 5am this morning?

I fled the country at the weekend, but kept an eye on the political horsetrading over the weekend with World. They had a few simulcasts - including Dimbleby's Saturday special, the Andrew Marr show, and a couple of News Channel chunks - usually obvious to spot by a generic 'and now back to you in the studio' throw at the end. David Eades was also down on College Green doing interviews on the non-simulcast hours I saw.

Interesting to spot the PBS bulletin from 9pm UK time last night was anchored completely from Downing Street, interesting to note that from the establishing TOTH wide shot the presenter (Mike Embley?) seemed to have the street to himself.
