I'm led to believe that 'The Hub' won't return as a brand. Nik Gowing is rumored to be taking up the morning slot on World News. As someone asked above, this could mean the 5am UK slot for three hours, or the 8am UK slot for 4+ hours. I don't know which, or if perhaps, he will have a Gowing hour of some sort in the middle of the above.

If I were a betting man, I would hazard a guess that he's about to take up the slot currently held by David Eades?

But, hey, what do I know? I'm almost as random as you are. x

Could this possibly be linked to the new BBC World News hour on BBC Two? Presuming the schedules are wrong and BBC Two will show the full 1100GMT hour. Perhaps they are looking for a senior face for the simulcast.

The schedules are correct, 1100-1130 will be News Channel.

Is this how the new program straps will look?

The DOG changed half way through that programme, from BBC World News to just BBC News. Did you notice?

Yes and also notice in that photo that there's this see through black strap in line with the logo box. Not sure I explained well. Confused

I don't think so. This is what I found on Twitter a few weeks ago (via @hughesroland, Twitter) :

Similar though! They'll probably line up better too!

I think, from what we've seen so far, the 'IMPACT' slug could sit above the BBC WORLD NEWS, and rise up on top of the white aston as that expands up from a line above the DOG. The NBH graphics we've seen so far have had the BBC NEWS DOG wipe horizontally across left to right with the name strap simultaneously expand up above it.

It looks similar to BBC Newsnight but Newsnight's does not animate Sad and wheres the ticker going to sit is it in that red transparent area next to the BBC World news logo?

Really? Surely the more sensible option would be to provide an alternative to the News Channel on BBC Two, rather than a simulcast.

Was one of the main reasons for getting rid of the daytime summaries on BBC One not because the News Channel is now available to everyone? Surely a 30-minute simulcast on BBC Two is therefore a bit if a retrograde step ...

Yup, I see what you mean. Almost like the residue left from the ticker burning its path!

Not so sure I like those "new" straps in the preview images above. Is there a mix of red and burgundy in the lower line again?

I am sure it will look better in the real finished article.

I don't like that dark red either, it all looks stale and not fresh, crisp and modern at all.

Does anyone know how long has BBC World News been broadcasting in HD in the US?
