I have no idea if the title music has survived. I hope it has.

Hmmmmmmm. Thanks for this.

It hasn't survived. A brand new David Lowe mix has been composed which will be used on all the World Business Report versions.

Thanks - quite a change from recent WBR branding. Like you I really hope the 1997 theme music will survive the transition to NBH. It's iconic now and it would be such a shame if it's replaced with yet more bland David Lowe music. There's enough of his music on everything else, it's nice having the old flags music remain for WBR.

Oops, didn't see this post over the page. Drat. That's really disappointing - why are the BBC obsessed with David ruddy Lowe?! I loved his music in 1999, but enough is enough now. Well, that's the last link with the brilliant flags era broken. 15 years the WBR music lasted - which is something of a record in modern times.

oh that's a shame. I loved the WBR music. The new music is far superior to the previous "more of the same thanks" remixes and reminds me more of the original 99 stuff with the detail but losing such a wonderful track is really sad.

Mind the graphics are nicer by the look of it. That squares thing looked like it had been done on someone's lunch break.

Actually that's generous, someone's fag break.

This is so disappointing, no matter the quality of the new graphics, nothing will ever make up for the loss of that superb and iconic piece of music.

Bad move BBC ...theres still time to change it back.

EDIT: Pete, I think i'm probably not the only one who is jealous that you've heard some of the new music. Please stop rubbing our noses in it. Laughing

I think you'll like the new WBR themes, they're quite fresh and not so bland as some of Lowes other themes.

I have every confidence that this new music will be excellent... I just feel that perhaps WBR should have kept its music, especially when its already survived three major rebrands. Its been a fixture of the channel for longer than any of David Lowe's themes, and I feel it is far superior to any of David Lowe's themes. I cant see any of the new stuff, however good it is, being able to top a superb music package that has been on air for 15 years.

Love the new title, sad the music will be gone. It has become iconic. So January 14 is the big day when a completely new BBC World will arrive. Can't wait.

What's the situation with ABR (Asia Business Report) as the titles and music look the same?
