And of course Mishal Husain being, arguably, a main presenter on WN doesn't stop her from presenting on BBC1, Newsnight and even this year's Olympics.
Naga Munchetty, too, is a frequent on Breakfast.
Yes, Jon is of course going to keep appearing on BBC One - probably doing the occasional news at one as he does at the moment, and I would be very surprised if he didn't surface at elections due to his political knowledge. However unlesss he moves news channel, he is not going to be able to maintain a daily presence on both channels. George Alagiah does it, but I can't think of any others who do.
Whilst I agree that, traditionally, BBC World presenters don't usually cross over that much to the domestic outlets, there is the case of George Alagiah who has, for many years, successfully managed to straddle both channels - GMT is 'his' show but so is the Six O'Clock News.
There was also the example of Philip Hayton many years ago, who presented his own shifts on both BBC News 24 and BBC World every week. So, albeit out of the norm, it's not totally unheard of.
Given Jon Sopel's knowledge and experience of British politics, the BBC are hardly going to waste him solely on BBC World. I suspect on some occasions he will anchor big political news here and someone else will deputise for him on BBC World; much in the same way George Alagiah doesn't always present GMT.
