Big Komla back on the 5am edition today for one day, probably. However, I note that he did the sports news himself and they didn't go to Salford as I'd expected. (worth noting that there will no longer be a sportscaster in N8 on the overnights or early shifts any more, with Matt Gooderick having done the last such shift last Friday).

Maybe it was just a one off or a comms problem with Salford?

Edit: and Naga on the next shift, 8am, from the pod. Unusual. Holiday season.

Alice Baxter did World Biz Report at 0830 London time, but instead of Sport Today afterwards, we returned to Naga at the pod in N8, who opened what would be a normal bulletin with full heads and full music, however after the music, she said "now for a round up of today's sport". She's currently reading the sports news.

Salford: what's up?

Edit: after the quick sports round up, Naga is now filling time with some features reports. Is this a new format, one wonders, or just a technical issue with Salford?

That's surely the first time a BBC World bulletin has been advertised on a tram in Hong Kong?

Imagine if they were allowed to do that in the UK!

Huw Edwards and Fiona Bruce on the side of a No.47 London Bus!

I had a tweet from Amelia Harris-Lindsay. There will be no more sports anchor from Salford between the hours of 0400 and 1145am. In between those times, the duty Newscaster in London's N8 will deliver the Sports News, meaning that BBC World News will also feature in the schedule during certain hours at xx:45hrs.

All rather unusual, if you ask me!

That's surely the first time a BBC World bulletin has been advertised on a tram in Hong Kong?

And the first time that tram advertising a BBC World bulletin has crashed into another vehicle?
