On a Friday, I believe that Zeinab only presents one edition of WNT, which is hosted at 7pm UK time. On other days of the week, she used to appear for two full hours on BBC World (7pm to 9pm, before Mike Embley took over), but on a Friday, it's always only been one hour.
At what time (UK time) did you see Jamie Robertson hosting the edition?
Janat Jalil took over from Martine Croxall today on World. Janat continues to tell us about an earthquake in Chilli. One wishes she would pronounce Chile properly.
World's coverage of the events in Chile has been pretty flat so far. CNN has outshone everyone else on the coverage. World still showing normal weekend schedules so far.

What more is there to say other than there's been an earthquake and tsumani warnings have been issued to Pacific countries? The full extent of the situation will only unfold with time - it's not even 12 hours since it struck yet.
EDIT: Their coverage or should I say lack of coverage of this latest earthquake has been scandalous. The president of the republic is speaking now and they aren't even showing that, instead it's the UK Report.

when did Darshini david leave the BBC for Sky News?
Dharshini didn't leave the BBC for Sky. She left the BBC in May 2008 to join Tesco as their head of broadcast media. She left Tesco to join Sky in September 2009.

Why be so hard on BBC WORLD for this latest earthquake in Chile. I think the coverage was good for the amount of imformation that was coming out and it happened when they were sleeping. Why shut down the hold weekend schedule for rumors and speculations. Why shut down some signature shows and debates that offer a wide variety of interest to BBC WORLD audience. It is no co incidence that CNNI stayed with that because a major US state could have possibly been hit by a Tsunami. When ever the US is implecated in anyway CNN n CNNI will do wall to wall coverage. It always happens so it is not a big deal. I am show folks at the BBC don't get work over stuff like this. CNN is a desparate network at this time. They will do anything for ratings. After the coverage people don't return, Case in point Fox News. CNNI has been losing audience all over the world and their crediblity has been tarnish. Do not just cover these weather stories wall to wall and then not cover other important stories in full force. Even sky didn't go overboard with the story.
Endless hours of tape interview and maps is not what their so call slogan "Going beyond Borders" is. ohh the US borders, why now??? When these others stations have been beyond borders for decades.
It was a big catastrophe even though not so much people died (compared to Haiti at least). CNN might have gone overboard a bit (which is not bad at weekends cause other way there would be no news) but other networks had rolling coverage at one point too. BBC World didn't , they are just lazy with breaking news, that's what I think. It was always like that even though it changed a bit for the better after the 2008 revamp. I don't know what needs to happen for them to cancel one 15 minute edition of WBT or ST.
Even though CNN's revamp was shaky things are slowly settling down and they are running smoothly again. Sure, some things could change for better but at least they have some variety of topics, special coverage of different countries each month etc.
I'm not so sure about BBCW after their mini revamp, for me the channel was better before mostly cause of the double headed 1100 cet bulletin at a time when CNN airs Larry King. That was a great hour of all the news but now the second half is like a replay of first with one anchor.
