My penultimate overnight shift! #Newsday moves to a new time next week, 2300 GMT start.

I knew this was happening but I just wondered whether anyone knows whats happening after?

I've tried looking on the BBC Programs site and it still lists it as being 01:00 - 04:30, the World news guide however says it runs 00:00 (BST) - 02:30 (BST) I think. So it looks like they're reducing it by an hour.

Then it says we then have BBC World News until 06:00 (BST).

With them reducing it down is there a chance that they might start simulcasting from midnight?

As of Monday Newsday runs from 2300 - 0230 UK Time. There is then a new shift from 0300-0500 UK Time, which we were speculating before who would do. What this tweet has confirmed is that it will be a different presenter to Newsday, and not just Kasia/ Babita doing a six hour shift. So, do we think Mike Embley is going to do the night shift, or will he move to relief and someone else take overnights?

Hopefully it will be Mike Embley as he's very well known in the USA and respected by Americans as well.

Hopefully Newsday will get some new music and titles.

Everyone says this, but what's the basis for it?

The only basis is we know he is loosing his current shift, as it will cease to exist.

I meant about Mike Embley's presence in the US, not whether he takes that shift or not.

I think its because a lot of the PBS Stations used to broadcast WN during the 'Primetime' viewing period, and 9 times out of 10 it was Mike Embley.

Katya Adler is doing The Hub tonight, since Karin Giannone is in Edinburgh. And she has a Costa coffee cup on the Hub as well!! LOL.

Unusual choice of presenter, but she's rather good!

I have noticed she is not only a good presenter, but also a good interviewer; I wish she could have her own show on world

Yea Mike presented the World News PBS programmes for a couple of years. The channel did a lot of promotion with him, sending him out to the states to meet partners. There was a lot of upset from viewers when PBS lost him with the revamp when they got BBC World News America, They will now take either the news World News America at 2130GMT or one of the overnights programmes.
