I don't they cancelled it, I think it might start next week. Because in that promo of the changes on the channel. Lyse's program did have its own idents.
If it can be arranged yes, but usually World Pres ask the news gallery to pause at the opt-in and out points and provide some reference to the fact that PBS is joining/leaving. In the past and during a live event like a press conference, they have been known to provide a DVE zoom which reveals a strap line to welcome 'some viewers' or explain that some are leaving the continuing coverage. This was known in the BBC as a PIDLE - Presentation Interuption Device for a Live Event !!!
I remember getting a full bulletin last summer when the JW Marriott hotel in Jakarta was bombed again.
On a semi-unrelated note, instead of getting the Jonathan Charles bulletin on PBS now, I get one from an hour earlier with Martine Croxall. Not sure why.
"Old pals" Martine Dennis and Owen Thomas sharing the presenting role on The World Today (or whatever it's called now) this morning, and did a rather lively newspaper review together.
At the wrap, "well, it's goodbye from him, and it's goodbye from me". Luckily she managed to squeeze that in, with a feeling of resignation I think, as Owen had dominated the previous segment with his rather louder voice. LOL.
Just like it was fifteen years ago.................

Just watched that and couldn't agree more with your comments. I like Owen but why does he feel the need to shout I wonder?
Quick question. ISTR the 3am GMT similcast bulletin was a World News Today branded program that was sort of a hybrid between WNT and World News America with a presenter in London and Washington.
Being a bit too late/early for me to catch these days, under the new schedules, what is the 3am GMT program known as and is the whole hour similcast or is it just the first half hour with a pre record after 3:30?

It's not.
'World News Today' stopped coming from Washington some time back, with it becoming just the London-based presenter and usually Rico Hizon in Singapore. To be honest this version didn't feel much different to standard WN, but with Rico presenting and WNT music and opening.
Since the new schedule this edition was dropped, and it's now just BBC News.
I never really considered Owen Thomas a shouter... now Jonathan Charles and Arron Hazelhurst... now that's a shouting match! I thought him and Martine were a good combination this morning.
